The Great Outdoors
Camp in an RV near Daytona Beach and head to the Tiger Bay State Forest, a conserved tract of wetlands, lakes, and forests to the west of Daytona Beach. It's named after an extensive wetland known as Tiger Bay, which is dotted with pine islands that provide a habitat for bald eagles and black bears. Stretch your legs along the Buncombe Hill hiking trail or go horseback riding on the Rima Ridge equestrian trail, with fishing and boating permitted on Indian Lake and Rattlesnake Pond.A 20-minute drive north of the Daytona Speedway RV Campground is the Tomoka State Park, a 2,000-acre protected area along the Tomoka River. It's home to a diverse range of wildlife species, including gopher tortoises, West Indian manatees, and white-tailed deer, as well as alligators and around 160 species of birds. Spot bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and northern harriers on the hiking trails and visit the historic Timucuan village of Nocoroco, which has now been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Canoeing and boating are both picturesque ways to explore the park, with fishing also permitted along the Tomoka River.Directly north of Tomoka State Park is Bulow Creek State Park, which encompasses around 5,600 acres of ancient oaks and submerged land just north of Ormond Beach. It's one of the largest remaining stands of southern live oaks along Florida's east coast, with several trails for exploring its interior and spotting the resident white-tailed deer, barred owls, and raccoons. Follow the Bulow Woods Trail to access the Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, the remains of an early 19th-century plantation where sugar cane, cotton, rice, and indigo were grown. It's now listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, with an interpretive center that details the plantation's history and picnic facilities where you can relax over lunch.

Daytona Beach campers can pick up grocery supplies at the adjacent shopping center, which is home to a large supermarket, a flea market, and a farmer's market. There's a gas station directly opposite the RV campground if you need to fill up your RV rental, as well as fast-food restaurants, a brewhouse and a Mexican grill along the nearby highway.A highlight of camping at Daytona Speedway RV Campground is attending a meet at the Daytona International Speedway, which is home to NASCAR's most prestigious race - the Daytona 500. If you're not visiting on a racing weekend, you can still explore the racetrack on a guided VIP tour aboard one of their open-air trams. Visit the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America to learn about the sport's biggest names and admire the vintage racing memorabilia that's on display, then visit the speedway's garage area, pit road, the fan zone, and the Gatorade Victory Lane.Spend a day exploring the sights of Daytona Beach, which centers around a long stretch of hard-packed sand that's accessible to vehicles. Enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk that's home to rides and arcade games or attend one of the free summer concerts at the Daytona Beach Bandshell. Also nearby is a water park where you can cool off in themed pools and on thrilling water slides. If you're after a cultural fix, head to the Museum of Arts & Sciences, which boasts one of the largest exhibits of Coca-Cola memorabilia in the world. Questions about RVs?
Q. What type of RV should I choose?
A.
Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.
You'll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you're planning to cook on the road, you'll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn't have public restrooms, you'll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.
Q. Do the RVs have bathrooms?
A.
Yes. Class A's, Class B's, and Class C's and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you'll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.
Q. How does check-in work?
A.
Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
